We won't be starting school for a couple more weeks, but that hasn't stopped me from working on a couple of projects with my two year old son. CJ is still a little young for phonics, but he's old enough to want to do what the older kids are doing. So when I saw the
Crafty ABC's at
Totally Tot's I decided we HAD to make our own. He really didn't do anything besides apply glue to the "a is for apple", but he still had fun and was proud of the results. I wish I'd though ahead of time to use his fingerprints as the apple seeds.

We had a great time decorating coffee filters with markers and spraying them to make water-colored wings for our butterfly. This wasn't in the original instructions, but it was the perfect way for a two year old to spend his birthday. I'm hoping to be able to spend at least 15 minutes a day with him this year, working on his notebook. I am planning to make up some search and find sheets to help him practice letter recognition, and I have some alphabet coloring pages to add to his notebook as well. He isn't quite ready for reading lessons yet, but I'm hoping he will learn at least a few of the letter sounds.
